Resolving Vaccine Passport Issues
People who changed their names:
The BC a government announced a backend fix for vaccine passports that showed deadnames for people who legally changed their names.
If you changed your name but your vaccine passport displayed it wrong, do these three steps:
- Try to download a new vaccine passport. This step should solve problems for most people.
- Make sure Health Insurance BC has your new name by calling 1-800-663-7100. Try again to download.
- If this doesn’t work, call 1-833-838-2323 for help.
1-833-838-2323 is also the general vaccine passport help number. Call this if you don’t have WiFi, a personal health number (PHN), or a printer or smartphone to download your vaccine passport.
Telephone for the Deaf: Dial 711
Video Relay Services (VRS) provides sign language interpretation free for registered deaf, hard of hearing or speech-impaired people.
People who have not yet legally changed their names:
We are advocating for a solution to keep folks who have not done a legal name change from being deadnamed or outed on vaccine passports.
