The Catherine White Holman Wellness Centre (CWHWC) is a holistic health care centre serving transgender and gender-diverse communities. It operates on a volunteer basis and works within an anti-oppressive social justice framework. At the CWHWC, we aim to provide low-barrier wellness services to trans and gender diverse people in a way that is respectful and celebratory of clients’ identity and self-expression.

Volunteer Job Posting: Registered Nurse

Description
Catherine White Holman Wellness centre is seeking a volunteer Registered Nurse to work two clinic evenings per month. Our clinic operates on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 4-7pm. This is an unpaid position.

Clinical work includes shared care of hormone replacement therapies including teaching self-injection, general primary care shared care support, and post-operative care for gender-affirming surgeries. This position also involves a quarterly clinician meeting and involvement in a rotating schedule of lab review and clinic bookings. Applicants must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of BC.

Volunteer Job Posting: Volunteer Coordinator

Description
Catherine White Holman Wellness Centre is seeking applicants for the position of Volunteer Coordinator. This position will involve supporting current volunteers through bi-annual check-ins, helping to respond to prospective volunteers and provide orientation, and maintaining staff files. We currently have 25 volunteers who work in clinical and community roles during twice monthly ½ day clinics. The volunteer co-ordinator will also serve as a liaison between centre volunteers and the centre organizing team. The volunteer co-ordinator will participate in some Sunday afternoon clinics (2nd and 4th Sundays of the month) as well as hours outside of this as decided by the volunteer co-ordinator and centre organizing team. Anticipated requirement is 4 to 5 hours weekly decided jointly as above.
