Parks Board Meeting

An important message from the folks at the All Bodies Swim:
On Monday, May 13 at the Vancouver Parks Board meeting, Commissioner
Trevor Loke will be raising a motion to convene a working group to
identify and recommend measures to make Vancouver’s parks and
recreational facilities safe, inclusive, and welcoming for trans and
gender variant community members. Here is a link to the motion:

This motion builds on the work of the LGBTQ Advisory Committee to City
Council, Theo of the All Bodies Swim organizing team has been meeting
with members of the Advisory Committee to work on specific issues and
needs around inclusion and safety for trans and gender variant folks
in Vancouver. We are excited to see a motion come forward to formalize
the collaboration between the Parks Board, Advisory Committee and
community groups like the All Bodies Swim.

We would like you to consider attending this meeting to rally a strong
visible presence of trans and gender variant folks and our allies.
